This weekend brings exciting football action across Europe, with major fixtures in La Liga, Serie A, the Premier League, and the Bundesliga. Here's a quick betting preview of key matchups to help you make informed decisions.
Alaves had a promising start to the season with seven points from five games but are still adjusting after summer signings. They recently lost 3-2 to Espanyol but won their last two home games.
Sevilla, on the other hand, just ended a four-match winless streak with a narrow 1-0 win over Getafe, marking new manager García Pimienta's first victory.
Verona’s form has been erratic, alternating between wins and losses. They’re yet to win at home against Torino since 2018.
Torino, solid defensively, have gone four Serie A matches unbeaten but struggled offensively in their last game, managing no shots on target in a goalless draw against Lecce.
West Ham vs Chelsea (Premier League)
West Ham is struggling with only one win in their last four league games and has a poor home defensive record.
Chelsea, with a slightly better start under Enzo Maresca, is aiming for their fifth straight away win, although they have a poor record at the London Stadium, winning only once in their last seven visits.
Liverpool vs Bournemouth (Premier League)
Liverpool is aiming to bounce back from a shock 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest. They have a dominant H2H record against Bournemouth, winning ten of the last 11 meetings.
Bournemouth is struggling, having won just one of their last eight matches and failing to score consistently on the road.
Crystal Palace vs Manchester United (Premier League)
Crystal Palace is yet to win in the Premier League this season but has been tough to beat at home against United, with two wins and two draws in their last four H2Hs.
United comes in hot after big wins in the EFL Cup and Premier League but has struggled in away games, especially in London, winning just two of their last 16 trips to the capital.
Werder Bremen vs Bayern Munich (Bundesliga)
Bremen are on a four-match unbeaten run at home but have lost their last 14 home games against Bayern.
Bayern, with 11 goals in their first three league games, is strong in attack but vulnerable defensively, failing to keep an away clean sheet in the league since November 2023.
Juventus had a blazing start but have hit a roadblock with two consecutive goalless draws in Serie A. They bounced back midweek with a 3-1 win over PSV in the Champions League.
Juve’s victories this season have come with three goals in each game, emphasizing the need for a strong first half, especially since they’ve struggled against Napoli in recent years (W1, D1, L3 in their last five H2H).
Napoli, under Antonio Conte, have regained form after an opening day loss, securing three consecutive wins. Their 4-0 win over Cagliari was their first away clean sheet since November 2023, but consistency in away games has been a challenge.
Real Madrid vs Espanyol (La Liga)
Real Madrid remain unbeaten after five league games (W3, D2), but those two draws have left them four points behind rivals Barcelona. They come into this match after back-to-back 2-0 league wins, complemented by a 3-1 Champions League win over Stuttgart.
Real’s defense at home is formidable, with nine shutouts in their last ten La Liga home games. Espanyol, recently promoted, have found their stride with five goals in two consecutive wins, but they face a daunting task.
They haven’t won at the Santiago Bernabéu since 1996, and while they’ve managed to score recently, breaking Real’s home dominance will be tough.
Fenerbahçe vs Galatasaray (Turkish Süper Lig)
The iconic Intercontinental Derby is here!
Fenerbahçe host Galatasaray in what will be their 401st meeting. Fenerbahçe, sitting second in the table, trail Gala by two points after five matches.
After a near-perfect start to the season, the hosts aim to end their home win drought against Galatasaray. Meanwhile, the reigning champions have been in spectacular form, winning all five of their matches and scoring 17 goals.
Galatasaray will look to extend their ten-match away winning streak and remain unbeaten.
Manchester City vs Arsenal (Premier League)
A rematch of last season’s title race, this clash between Man City and Arsenal is crucial early in the season. City, unbeaten in their last 32 home league games, welcome an Arsenal side eager to close the two-point gap at the top of the table.
Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 0-0, but City have an impressive H2H record, winning seven of their last nine Premier League duels with Arsenal.
Arteta’s side, however, won two of their three encounters last season.
Arsenal will need a strong performance, as they haven’t trailed in 11 straight away games, but their record at the Etihad could be under threat.
Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga)
Stuttgart’s return to the Champions League ended in a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid, but they’ll look to maintain their unbeaten home record in the Bundesliga, which stretches back 13 games (W9, D4). Dortmund, fresh off a 3-0 UCL win over Club Brugge, are also unbeaten this season (W4, D1).
Last season, Stuttgart won three of their four encounters with Dortmund, but BVB have historically dominated away at Stuttgart, losing just once in their previous 12 visits (W9, D2).
With both sides in strong form, this game promises goals, with Stuttgart’s matches averaging 4.5 goals per game this season.
Marseille are in fine form, unbeaten and sitting second in the table. With their attack firing on all cylinders, they’ve scored two or more goals in every game this season.
Lyon, on the other hand, are struggling to find consistency and sit 13th in the standings. Although they’ve shown signs of improvement, facing a high-flying Marseille side will be a tough challenge.
Inter Milan vs AC Milan (Serie A)
The Derby della Madonnina returns as Inter and AC Milan clash. Inter, unbeaten at home this season, come off a 1-1 draw with Monza.
AC Milan, after a slow start, picked up their first win of the season with a 4-0 victory over Venezia.
With fierce history between these sides, this derby promises to be a thrilling contest as both teams fight for bragging rights in Milan.
Villarreal vs Barcelona (La Liga)
Barcelona, powered by Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, sit atop La Liga with 17 goals in five games.
They face Villarreal, who have been potent offensively but shaky defensively, conceding eight goals in five matches.
Villarreal will hope for a strong showing at home, but with Barcelona’s solid defense and attacking prowess, they’ll face an uphill battle to stop the Catalan giants from extending their winning streak.
