Both teams have undergone managerial changes, are rejuvenating their squads, and have the financial backing from participating in an ever-wealthier Champions League.

Roma has spent heavily this summer, splashing out €80 million on the acquisitions of Artem Dovbyk, Matias Soulé, and Enzo Le Fée.

Juventus also signed Khephren Thuram for €20 million and are still in the market for wingers.

Napoli paid €35 million for Italian centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno, while notable departures include Riccardo Calafiori and Joshua Zirkzee, who moved from Bologna to the Premier League for almost €90 million.

Most Valuable Player and Team in Serie A

According to Transfermarkt, Inter Milan is the most valuable team in Serie A, with their squad valued at approximately €654 million, which is €80 million more than AC Milan (€571 million).

Both Napoli and Juventus also have squads valued over €500 million. However, AC Milan and Juventus have younger teams, with an average age of 24, compared to Inter and Napoli, whose players average 26.5 years old.

Serie A 2024/25 Schedule

The Serie A season begins on 17th August and will run until 25th May 2025. There will be four international breaks in September, October, November, and March.

There won’t be a winter break, with matches scheduled during Christmas and New Year.

The new season will open with matches between Genoa and Inter, and Parma and Fiorentina, both scheduled for 17th August at 18:30 CET.
