The road to Munich is heating up – eight clubs, four epic matchups, and only two tickets to the final. The Champions League quarter-finals are here.
Tuesday and Wednesday bring us the first legs of the Champions League quarter-finals. Eight teams are left, but only two will make it to the final, scheduled for 31 May in Munich.
There will be a total of four matches across Tuesday and Wednesday. According to projections, more excitement is expected on the first day. However, recent and distant history alike have shown that there are no favourites at this stage – everything will be decided on the pitch.
Arsenal will welcome Real Madrid to the Emirates. Mikel Arteta’s side are a long way behind Liverpool in the Premier League (11 points with seven games to go). They have been knocked out of the FA Cup, and the Champions League is their only realistic shot at silverware this season.
The Gunners have shown their focus is firmly on the Champions League, with Arteta’s recent decision to rotate the squad at the weekend and leave the recently recovered Bukayo Saka on the bench for the first 45 minutes of the match against Everton.
Arteta’s team is struggling in attack, having issues with finishing, as both starting strikers picked up injuries earlier in the season. The Spaniard has had to improvise, with Trossard and Merino often sharing the number 9 role.
One of the key players in Arteta’s side will miss the big clash – centre-back Gabriel has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury. This makes Real Madrid the favourites in this tie, but it’s worth remembering that Arsenal have shown they can handle Los Blancos. In the round of 16 in the 2005/06 season, Arsenal eliminated Real.
Real, meanwhile, have been inconsistent – they lost 2–1 at home to Valencia on Saturday. Carlo Ancelotti’s side have reached each of the last 12 quarter-finals and have won all four previous UEFA quarter-final ties played in London.

Both teams reached the quarter-finals comfortably – Bayern thrashed Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen 5–0 over two legs, while Inter eased past Feyenoord 4–1 on aggregate.
The two sides have a rich recent history in head-to-head clashes, the most memorable being in 2010, when Inter beat Bayern 2–0 in the Champions League final and went on to win the treble.
Bayern had the upper hand in their most recent encounters. In the group stage of the 2022/23 season, the Bavarians won both matches 2–0.
Bayern will be buoyed by their impressive home record – unbeaten in their last 22 UCL home matches (17 wins, 5 draws). Inter, on the other hand, are the only Serie A team remaining in the top eight of European competition. Their manager, Simone Inzaghi, doesn’t have fond memories of playing against Bayern – teams under his leadership have lost all four previous meetings with the German giants.
Vincent Kompany will most likely be without Jamal Musiala, who is injured, joining the list of absentees that includes Coman, Neuer, Pavlović, Davies and Upamecano.
Plenty of history and firepower in this one – full-time result, correct score, and half-time markets now live on tether.bet.
Paris Saint-Germain are among the most in-form teams of 2025. Luis Enrique’s side eliminated Liverpool on penalties at Anfield in the previous round and have now set up a clash with another Premier League side.
Aston Villa travel to the Parc des Princes for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in confident mood.
Unai Emery’s team proved during their excellent campaign in both the UCL and Premier League last season that they can overcome stronger opponents. This will also mark Emery’s return to Paris, where he managed the club from 2016 to 2018, winning the league title, two Coupes de France and two League Cups.
Aston Villa have won all of their last eight matches in all competitions, and PSG are also on a fantastic run of six straight victories.
Luis Enrique’s team look like serious contenders for the title. Despite losing Kylian Mbappé, that departure has paved the way for the brilliant Ousmane Dembélé to shine, alongside young stars Barcola, Doué and January signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The two teams have never met before, mainly due to the fact that Aston Villa have been absent from the Champions League for many years.
PSG are the favourites, but with two Spanish managers and two squads in great form, this clash promises exciting football and goals.
Looking for value? PSG to win and both teams to score is trending on tether.bet.
Dortmund made a sensational run to the final last season, but came up short against Real Madrid. In under 12 months, the Westphalian side has undergone significant changes, and are now led by Croatian manager Niko Kovač. He faces a monumental task – to stop the well-oiled machine built by Hansi Flick.
This will be a battle between two managers shaped in Germany, both with ties to Bayern Munich, and connected by Robert Lewandowski, who played for Dortmund from 2014 to 2018. But on Wednesday, it will be 11 vs 11, with both teams looking to secure the best possible position ahead of the return leg.
The sides met in the group stage of the competition, when Barcelona won 3–2 in Dortmund, in a match that saw all five goals scored after the 53rd minute.
Dortmund have never beaten Barcelona. The two teams have met five times – two ended in draws, and three in Barça wins.
